In addition to more than 4 years as a licensed real estate agent, I spent over 4 years working as a property appraiser in both Austin and San Antonio at the Travis and Bexar County Appraisal Districts. I specialized in high-end homes (typically $600,000 and above with an emphasis on over $1,000,000) and apartment complex valuations. Because of this specialization, I spent an extensive amount of time in many of Austin's most prestigious neighborhoods and subdivisions including Old Enfield, Tarrytown, Mount Bonnell, Northwest Hills, Travis Heights, Zilker Park, Barton Hills, Barton Creek, Lost Creek, Davenport Ranch, Rob Roy, Seven Oaks, Rollingwood and most of Westlake Hills. I can't think of a better preparation for being a full-time real estate agent.

In addition to learning all areas of Austin and Travis County, I have a unique understanding of market value, property tax implications, and a great eye for the little details. I get an enormous amount of enjoyment from helping people make the best decision possible when it comes to buying or selling real estate, whether as an owner occupant, investor, renter or just helping to answer questions. I give the average property owner the chance to reduce their property taxes for a reasonable fee, using my expertise and experience in the tax appraisal industry. Real Appraisal Relief has had incredible success representing property owners in the greater Austin, Texas area and I will continue to achieve this level of success for property owners throughout Travis County.

After graduating from UT Austin with a dual major in Business Honors and Finance, I spent several years in the hi-tech industry before taking a job as a residential appraiser trainee with the Travis Central Appraisal District. Within my first year, I was tapped to be a part of the high-end home team, specializing in residences valued at $600,000 and above throughout Travis county, with an emphasis on homes valued over $1,000,000. After another year, I took a position in San Antonio with the Bexar County Appraisal District working on apartments and multi-family valuations. I spent a little over 2 years there, working my way up to the position of Senior Commercial Appraiser, just over 4 years after having started in the industry.

While working for Travis CAD, I earned my real estate license and have been practicing both part and full time since March 2005.

After my time in San Antonio, I moved my real estate license to Carol Dochen Realtors, Inc to begin my full-time real estate career. While doing this work, I saw how many people are at a loss when it comes to property taxes. I received questions from clients and other real estate agents alike, all of them feeling helpless when trying to deal with property tax issues. That experience was the impetus for forming Real Appraisal Relief.
